*St. Paul's Annual Food Drive*
Part of an Episcopalian education, is learning about the importance of serving others and helping students answer this calling that has been given to us. One of the ways we do this at St. Paul's is by having an annual Fall food drive to collect much needed items for the St. Paul's food pantry. This undertaking is organized and ran by the Student Council and is a much loved tradition and competition that truly benefits members of our local community. To learn more about specific items that are being requested and which items will receive bonus points on which days please see this link. You can also keep track of our how many items we've collected as a school by taking a peak at our progress meter near the front desk of the south building or by simply glimpsing down the administrative hallway where items are stored until they can be transported to the pantry. We truly appreciate your help and support with this initiative. The lessons our students learn and the impact this event has on individuals and their families are immeasurable.
Are you a St. Paul's alum?
If so, we hope you'll join us Friday, November 29 from 6-8 PM to enjoy other graduates and celebrate the school's fiftieth anniversary. Please contact Katie Gregg or Jane Pennington if you have any questions.
Rick Ackerly & The Genius in Every Child
We were so pleased to have author Rick Ackerly join us this past week for a presentation about his book and experiences educating children. If you weren't able to make it to the presentation we highly recommend his book, The Genius in Every Child. You can view the introduction, epilogue, and a few chapter of the book here.
Community Learning Events
This past Saturday was St. Paul's first Lunch and Learn. Students and their families enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving meal and were able to spend quality time playing games, making crafts, and enjoying the "photo booth." A big thanks to Mr. Christensen, Mrs. Wiedeman, and Cristi Williams
for providing this fun opportunity that focused on communicating with our little ones!
In Harmony Performances
We have a wonderful group of about sixty students who have been enthusiastically participating in our In Harmony choir rehearsals every Monday morning at 7:15! Under the direction of Tamara Everly and Maria Meli, these students are working hard to learn and perform numerous Christmas songs. They will share their talent and hard work with our school community at all school chapel on Friday, December 13. On Monday, December 16, the students will sing at two divisional chapels and then perform at three local assisted living facilities. They will leave campus at 9:15 and return at 11:30 after singing at Bishop Spencer Place, Brighton Gardens, and Clarridge Court. Much thanks to Tamara Everly and Maria Meli for providing these wonderful opportunity for our students. If your child elected not to participate this fall, he or she is welcome to join In Harmony in January when our new Spring choir will begin.
