Bill Severns, author of Keepers of the Sandlot, will be at St. Paul's this Tuesday at 4 PM in the north MPR to share his experience and insights regarding coaching, sportsmanship, and helping our students get the most from their athletic experiences.  We invite all parents and coaches to join us for this event.

Fifth Grade Presidents Celebration
We invite all fifth grade parents and special friends to join us this Wednesday, February 12th at 2 in the north MPR as we celebrate our nation's leaders.  The students will be sharing all they've learned about their President and will also be presenting their electronic portfolios.  We are extremely proud of all of their hard work and look forward to celebrating with you.

Hooray For The USA
It's finally here!  Our first graders will be sharing all of their hard work and enthusiasm with us this Thursday, February 13th at 9:15 in the north MPR.  All first grade parents and special friends are invited to join us for the festivities.

The Rainforest Construction Has Begun
The third grade rainforest has started to take over the second floor commons and we couldn't be happier!  The third graders are abuzz researching their animal and planning how they'll make their animals at home.  Thanks to all of the third grade parents who are helping put the rainforest together.  Please email Ms. B or Mrs. Thompson if you would like to volunteer to hang leaves and vines.  We appreciate all of the help we can get.

Wine on the Vine
Third through Fifth grade teachers will be hosting their annual auction item for current third grade parents on Tuesday, March 4th from 6-7:30 PM.  Join us in the St. Paul's rainforest for hors d'oeuvres and wine.  The cost is $25 per person and you can contact Katie Gregg at kgregg@speds.org or at 816.268.6541 to register.

The Second Semester of In Harmony Choir Will Begin Soon
Starting on Monday, February 10th and continuing each Monday school is in session through May 5th, students in grades first through sixth are invited to join Mrs. Everly and Senora Meli in the music room at 7:15 for In Harmony rehearsal.  Students will once again perform in all school chapel and will also possibly perform in the community.  Students must not miss more than three rehearsals in order to participate in the performances.  Please complete and return the permission slip that was sent home in order to register your child.  Thanks in advance for helping your child arrive at 7:15 each Monday.  We are looking forward to a very successful second semester choir!

Valentine's Day Parties
The last class parties of the year will be here before we know it! These Valentine's Day parties will be on Friday, February 14. First and second grades will have their parties from 2-3 and third through fifth grades will have their parties from 2:30-3:15. Thanks to all of the room parents and volunteers who make these so enjoyable. We truly appreciate all you do!

Curriculum Presentation Is Rescheduled For Thursday, February 20 at 4:30
Due to the inclement weather last Tuesday we had to postpone the PLC presentation on our ongoing curriculum work.  We have rescheduled this presentation for Thursday, February 20th at 4:30 in the ECC commons.  We hope you'll be able to join us to see the wonderful work being done and the exemplary leadership of our teachers and Mrs. Abio as they serve as our PLC or Professional Learning Community.  Please RSVP to Linda Van Thullenar if you plan to attend.  Childcare is available through Extended Day.

Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent Teacher Conferences are at the end of February and teachers have posted the Sign-up Genius links on their blogs. Thank you so much for taking the time to conference with us. Great education is a true partnership and we sincerely appreciate your help and support.
