It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know your children these past few weeks! I've had the opportunity to socialize with them at lunch, teach chapel lessons on the second floor and observe the first floor lessons, and watch the students actively engaged in their learning during some extremely well planned and delivered lessons. Students are so involved and confident that it's hard to believe we are only a few weeks into the school year.
We hope to see you this Thursday, September 5 at 6 P.M. for Lower School Curriculum Night. Specials teachers and I will great you upon arrival and have an informative PowerPoint playing for those who arrive prior to 6. Grade level teachers will then begin their presentations at 6 either in their classrooms or one of our commons areas. We look forward to sharing with you all of the learning that will take place this year. Thank you in advance for joining us.
Thank you for your help and support with the Lower School Behavioral Plan. We appreciate you taking the time to review expectations with your children and help them realize the important contributions they make to helping create a safe, happy school and a productive learning environment. Through high expectations, continued focus on life skills, positive feedback, and gentle discipline we hope to make this a truly remarkable year for your child.
Our first Eucharist chapel for grades 3-8 was held on Friday, August 30. Thanks to Chaplain Castellan, Rev. Runnels, and the leadership of our student readers, acolytes, and ushers the service ran smoothly and provided a wonderful opportunity for students, teachers, and parents to worship in a more formal manner and to receive the Holy Eucharist.
