Love & Logic Introductory Session
Our first Community Learning Event will be this Thursday, September 12 from 4-5:30 P.M. in the ECC commons. The Becoming a Love and Logic Parent Curriculum will be offered the second Thursday of every month by facilitators Cristi Williams and Lynnette Rempel. The introduction to Love and Logic session will include: The Two Rules of Love and Logic, Delayed Consequences, Empathy, and Love and Logic One-Liners to Neutralize Arguing. These sessions are designed for families with children of all ages and will address topics including discipline, chores, tantrums, and much, much more. The session dates include: September 12, October 10, November 14, January 9, February 13, March 13, April 10, and May 8. .
Though most Community Learning Events will be free, the Love and Logic sessions are $50 per family (includes all adults wishing to attend) or $25/person. Financial assistance is available for those who need it. Contact Linda van Thullenar, Lvan@speds.org, at the ECC office to sign up today! Childcare is available through our Extended Care Program for a small fee.

Patricia Polacco Is Coming To St. Paul's
Thanks to the Cultural Arts Committee, students in grades two through five will have the opportunity to meet Patricia Polacco! Ms. Polacco is an award winning children's author who has written numerous top selling books over her career. We are very fortunate to have this wonderful author visit our school and present. Her presentation will be at 1 P.M. on Friday, September 13 in the North MPR.

Picture Day Will Be Here Soon
Lower and Middle School students will have their school pictures taken on Tuesday, September 17. All students should have received a Lifetouch Photo Order Form this past week. If you wish to pre-order pictures, please have your child bring in his or her "Picture Pass" or receipt to give to the classroom teacher who will then submit it to the photographer on picture day. You will also have the opportunity to purchase pictures after your child brings home proofs.
It's Almost Time For Family Fun Fest
Family Fun Fest is Friday, September 20 from 3:45-6:30. Join us on the field for hamburgers and other snacks provided by our eighth grade class and their parents, carnival like games and rides, a photo booth, a cake walk, and much, much more. Tickets can be purchased on line in advance with a credit card at https://stpeds.ejoinme.org/MyEvents/FamilyFunFest2013/FamilyFunFestTicketSales/tabid/473229/Default.aspx
until Wednesday, September 18th at 3:00 pm. Pre-purchased tickets and day of tickets sales can be picked up and/or purchased on Friday, September 20th from 8-10 am and 1-3 pm in the foyer of the main building to avoid standing in line at the field. Tickets sales between these hours at school can be charged to your credit card. Tickets being purchased on the field will have to be paid with by cash or check only.
*Speech & Hearing Testing*
Children's Spot therapists and personnel from The Midwest Ear Institute will be on campus Thursday, September 26 to test any Lower School students whose parents have elected to have them tested. Parents of students in grades one through three will be receiving a letter and form in the mail this week that you can complete and return to school if you would like to have your child tested. If you would like your fourth or fifth grader tested there are forms located at Mr. Darnell's desk. You can also email your child's teacher and he or she will ensure that your child brings a form home. Testing is $12 and forms should be returned by September 18.
Pet Blessing
Pet Blessing is Friday, September 27. First and second grade students are invited to bring a live pet to have blessed. All other students are welcome to bring a picture of their pet(s). This special chapel service will take place on the field during normal all school chapel time. Students are asked to report to their classrooms and then they will meet parents and pets on the field. Thanks for your help and support with this St. Paul's tradition.
